Hydraulics Industry Wins by Innovation

The hydraulics industry with innovation can grow drastically. With the right tools and training and some helpful technology, workers onsite can master the skills needed along with giving great insights into machine maintenance and repair.

The Hydraulics Industry Wins by Embracing Innovation

Hydraulic Industry Innovation is for the brave and the committed, with the belief that change is needed even when others don’t. From this belief come ideas, products, and efficiencies. However to successfully implement those innovations you also need to be able to execute your vision and be agile.

Throughout the last few years, we have been watching the main industries that BOA works with and have been excited by the progress and innovations that have brought efficiencies, decreased downtime, and up-skilled thousands of workers.

The Forestry industry is a great example of how innovative products and processes allow them to access areas more remote and to offer better health and safety for their workers.

Drones have given greater visibility on the job, as well as better forestry management, allowing for surveying, analysis, and forestry audits, all from the eyes of the sky. Grapple camera systems have increased accuracy along with remote-controlled machines already have a bigger presence.  With such a progressive industry BOA’s Hydraulic repairs and maintenance solution was welcomed, as a step in the right direction for self-sufficiency and control over downtime and costs.

Like Forestry, Mining & Earthmoving industries have used technological innovations to bring about efficiencies to their operations.

Automated machinery, integrating with GPS, 3D machine control systems, and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), along with the ability for one driver to operate multiple machines at one time, has seen a welcome shift in productivity and safety.

BOA’s understanding of the forestry, mining, and civil industries, based on many years’ experience, has led to the belief that repairing and maintaining hydraulic hoses is not rocket science. With the right tools and training and some helpful technology, workers onsite can master the skills needed along with giving great insights into machine maintenance and repair.

“We’ve always been pretty progressive, in that we’ve wanted to find a way around lowered productivity, and how can we put more money back into hard-working people’s pockets,” says Simon Boakes, Director of BOA.

The BOApod and the BOAhub are two of BOA’s key innovations that have brought change to the hydraulic industry.

The BOApod, an all-weather, all-terrain mobile unit, enables a user to assemble hydraulic hoses following the same principles used in original manufacturing facilities, and the BOAhub is a truly multi-platform, multi-device application that allows you to select and build your own hoses, order your hydraulic hose and fittings online, and accurately manage your inventory to assist with asset management.

Throughout the last few years BOA has been developing and learning from their customers and other innovations in the forestry, mining, and civil industries.

Those learnings have lead to recent additions to the BOApod, such as front lockable oil trays, for durability & added security, solar panels for sustainable charging and giving greater battery life, hose support tray for accurate measuring and a contamination-free zone and magnetic locking giving a tighter sealing for further reduction in contamination. All of this as well as additional releases of the BOAhub with ‘scan to order’ and ‘find a BOApod.’

The hydraulics industry and its customers are the winners on the day with all these new innovations, and BOA looks forward to learning more from the industries they work in and the customers they serve.
